2026 Theme Pagbubunyi

For Filipinos, the feeling of triumph springs even from the most mundane moments. Sun-drenched and weary fishermen beaming with relief over a hard-earned catch. A jeepney driver, amid the chaos of the commute, proudly displaying his children’s graduation photos.

Every win counts because we know exactly what it takes to achieve it. Behind every success lies hours of labor and years of sacrifice, which is fueled by our persistent and defiant hopeful outlook in life.

This is why victories – big and small – is also such a powerful unifier in our culture. It’s innate in us to support and root for one another. We go out of our way to celebrate loved ones who pass a licensure exam or friends who finally finished their family home. We even go beyond and help people achieve success because we care for our people and community. This is most visible in random acts of kindness everywhere: extending a hand to help a PWD cross a street, or assisting a delivery rider falling off his motorbike.

Simply put, seeing people prevail over their own battles is a source of communal joy and pride for Filipinos. There’s nothing like witnessing our kababayan winning in life.

The JTI SinagLarawan 2026 Photo Contest Pagbubunyi invites photographers to capture the many faces of victory that Filipinos go out of their way to celebrate. The contest seeks visual narratives showcasing how these uniquely Filipino vignettes of triumph highlight our Optimism, Joyful nature, and Empathy for others, which are core values that define the best of our people.
